Now I'm considering a Foreflight subscription to get traffic, but this free app works just fine.įor the FSX users that stumble across this: I can't get the companion app running on Windows 10, the app that sends data from FSX to FltPlan Go, but it seems to have worked for others on older OSes in the past. Save up to 200, plus 40 off AppleCare Latest. It makes it easier to be airspace-aware, even when the aircraft in the sim has the X-Plane GPS installed. Astropad Studio users can now access a peer-to-peer networking feature to connect an iPad to a Mac directly for people on slow Wi-Fi networks. I would suggest that all X-Plane users get this app and use it when you can. * If you have a flight plan entered, it will show that on the chart in relation to your current position. * It has a moving map to show you where you are on the chart * It has airport diagrams and approach procedures that are current. * It has all of the VFR and IFR charts like Skyvector uses. My experience is with the iOS version on an old iPad 2 with WiFi * FltPlan Go is free and is on iOS and Android. Any idea what port the ForeFlight-compatible data is being sent on? It would also be unwise to have to switch back and forth from the approach chart to your Foreflight AHRS screen on the same iPad. FltPlan Go has ways to hook into real ADS-B devices, and when you add a "custom" device in the app it asks for a device name and port number. You should also practice this with your CFI (preferably) or a safety pilot first. Keith Smith wrote:Are you asking how to get PE traffic into that app? The only traffic capability we have is sending a ForeFlight-compatible traffic stream to ForeFlight.
